In the second half of 2024, 1st Fabs were engaged by a regular customer to design, fabricate and install a helical staircase for a flagship location store on New Bond Street. Working closely with the customer during the design phase to ensure the finishes worked with the supporting metal design.
1st Fabs carried out site survey followed by full 3D design & Calcs. One of the main challenges in this project was limited access and loading. In order to mitigate this the staircase was fully assembled in our premises where a number of dry fits were carried out to include stone overlay templates and handrailing.
Once all parties were happy with the test the staircase was taken apart into smaller component parts and transported in light goods vehicles to New Bond Street.
The installation team rebuilt the staircase on site working within site constraints and ensuring stringent site H&S measures were adhered to.Β
There were multiple phases of the installation in order to ensure smooth workflow between other trades involved to achieve the high end finish required.
The end result is a magnificent centre piece Helical Staircase with a stunning overlay finish. As they say pictures speak 1000 words.
These works were carried out in house by our team in Nottinghamshire. Fabricated to EN1090 Exc 2 with full traceability and workflow management.
